"I'm gonna ruin your life!" - "Sorry?" - "I said I love the Smiths!"

    Hey beautiful soul,

Before you start reading today's article, I'd like you to put the "There is a Light That Never Goes Out" song by The Smiths on.. For the full vibe, you know!

The other night, I decided to re-watch the "500 Days Of Summer" movie for the "millionth" time (Yo bitch, this is my personal blog. I give myself the right to exaggerate, so what?)

It was the same movie, the same scenario, the same end... But a totally different ME.

Summer never promised commitment, never promised marriage, never promised "forever together"... So, why is she seen as a cheating bitch? The old me used to see her this way.. I mean, yes, she definitely didn't have to break Tom Hansen's heart that way...  But it was Tom's duty to protect his own fucking heart, wasn't it?

How many of you have fallen for people who didn't and won't give a single fuck about you? (Most of us).

How many signs telling you that the person just doesn't care about you have you ignored? (He told me that he hates me. Oh, at least, he is noticing me and has feelings for me, right? Please, hold on! Is our story gonna be a haters-to-lovers love story? How freaking romantic!)

How many nights did you spend wishing and praying that they would change? (Every. Single. Night)

How much effort did you put to convince them that you are the right person for them? (In vain)

Why don't you blame your delulu mind instead of putting the blame on people who didn't even ask for your love and affection? (Because in my pathetic situation, delulu is the solulu. I can't face the bitter truth and rejection so it is easier for me to create scenarios and fake hope in my head..)

There are so many Summers and Toms out there.. and so many Autumns as well.. Because after every Summer comes Autumn..

I know, unrequited "love" becomes poison to the soul, an obsession that just harms your mental health so fucking bad. But the plot twist is here: The more the person doesn't give a shit about you, the more you get attached to them, and the more you become obsessed.

The solution? So simple. Yet so challenging at times: Self-awareness. Self-love. Self-respect (Must at least have heard of these, huh?)

Summer teaches us another lesson. It didn’t take her long to say yes to marrying someone else even though she was so opposed to the ideas of marriage, fate, love, soulmates.. It just took her one person, only one person to make her believe in all of that shit.. to heal parts of her that were hurting, that not even Tom's love could heal...

"500 Days of Summer" wasn't a love story but it was definitely a story about love... about a girl and a boy who had to meet in order to learn from each other..

So go ahead, press play on that Smiths song again. And remember, not all love stories are meant to be love stories...
